Living in Fear Exercises

Reading on anti-immigrant legislation and organizations.  Learners should come prepared with the article already read or time should be built into the session for reading.

Allow at least 30-45 minutes.
 

Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian practice where passages of scripture are read and participants reflect on the meaning that occurs to them.  This practice can be easily adapted to other traditions using readings from that tradition.

Allow at least 20-30 minutes.
 

The National Immigrant Justice Center works with immigrants facing deportation who would benefit from legal aid.  They do intake at regional detention centers to identify individuals who could possibly be helped by legal services
