This was interesting today.  I got to talk to some attorney's before and then went it.  They did not use the tv but actually bought people in.  I was there in the afternoon.  One attorney said Judge Katsivalis tries hard.  This day there where about 18 from Mexico, 2 from Korea, 1 from Columbia, Nigeria and other places. 

They needed a translator for the two from Korea.  The woman was there by herself.  The man had a lawyer.  How do you get a lawyer in jail was my question.

As usual the participants in the courtroom were Judge Katsevalis, the prosecuting attorney, clerk, and translator.  Several cases had lawyers for the detainee and at least two families.  The court watchers were Sister Pat Murphy, RSM, Sister JoAnn Persch, RSM and Tony Olivo from the Chicago Tribune...

On Monday U.S. Magistrate Judge Bernardo Velasco finally delivered his verdict in regards to my July 25 littering trial.  The ruling was delivered as a memo to my lawyer, and said only that I had been found guilty of the Class B misdemeanor offense of littering on a National Wildlife Refuge, and that sentencing was suspended.

Check this out;  Legislation was introduced last night that tries to put some accountability and control on ICE raids and deportations.  It seems to be mostly concerned with ensuring due process for people swept up in raids and calls for the creation of a post to address issues of inhumane treatment by ICE...
