Part of the Club

Ask learners to recall a time when they were included as part of the ‘white’ club.  This will be an experience when through words or actions of themselves or others they were separated from people of a non-white race.  It may have been something overt, like an acquaintance making a racially or coded comment.  Or it may have been something more subtle that made a person of a non-white race stand out in white company.  In sharing if a participant cannot think of such an incident, they may talk about why they cannot come up with one or may simply pass.
