The Protect Citizens and Residents from Unlawful Raids and Detention Act

Check this out;  Legislation was introduced last night that tries to put some accountability and control on ICE raids and deportations.  It seems to be mostly concerned with ensuring due process for people swept up in raids and calls for the creation of a post to address issues of inhumane treatment by ICE. 

ICE has opperated as a wing of DHS with no outside supervision and apparently unlimited power.  They have not been accountable to citizens or anyone in congress.  It seems that this bill tries to close some of those loopholes, trying to make ICE (and DHS to a lesser extent) more of an agency of the government and not a crazy out of control pirate agency.
